The Payne Stewart Golf Club, Branson, MO

    The new $32 million Payne Stewart Golf Club is designed to honor the life and achievements of Springfield, Mo. native Payne Stewart. The par 72 course will measure over 7,350 yards from the back tees and have a plaque on each hole relating a specific event in Stewart’s celebrated career that was tragically cut short in 1999. Clampett's unique design concepts, along with design partner Chuck Smith, will implement such stories into the design of the course. Venerable oaks march across the broad sweep of these hills in Branson, Missouri, upstaged in the spring by native redbud and dogwood. The gentle spring spectacle gives way to summer’s lush growth when freshets appear after a rain and creeks tumble over rocky outcroppings here and there. Come fall the woodland puts on its most dazzling and colorful cape of red and gold and the air turns crisp with hints of a wood fire warming someone’s great room in the distance. This is Branson Hills coming to life in a spectacular landscape and about to make these ancient hollows perhaps the most desirable address in Southwest Missouri.
