Born of a Californian father who was a two-time National Air Race Champion as Pylon Racing Pilot and a French Mother, Bobby grew up on the Monterey Peninsula, where he was bred for the Adventurous Life. His career as a PGA Tour Golfer (now playing on the PGA Champion’s Tour), Broadcaster, Pilot, and Golf Instructor has carried him around the globe where he developed a passion for red wine. His search for “the perfect blend” led him close to his roots along the Central California Coast, to a small, boutique vineyard in Paso Robles, where warm days are often arrested by the cooling fog, setting the perfect stage for rich, fruit-forward, full-bodied wines. Blended from estate grown Cabernet, Syrah, Petite Syrah and Zinfandel grapes, then aged in new oak, you will enjoy the rich spice and flavors that gently meander through the cherry, apricot and strawberry overtones. It’s sure to make an IMPACT on your palate, and possibly, your game. Enjoy the Adventure!
The “Flying Eagle” Red was named after Bobby’s passion for aviation and his pension for making Eagles on the fly on the Champion’s Tour! Yes, that’s right, in less time than it took for the grapes to age in the oak barrels, Bobby flew two approach shots in the cup on the fly during official Champion’s Tour events and had both moments captured on National Television. The first occurred in the 2011 3M Championship in on the 11th hole of the TPC Twin Cities during the final round. Bobby laced a 9 iron from 132 yards, turned to his caddy, Cliff Robinson, and said while the ball was in the air, “Go in, that’s the exact shot I was trying to hit!” The ball flew straight into the cup for an eagle 2. The Golf Channel captured the whole event, including his words to his caddy.
The second holed eagle on the fly occurred during the 2012 Legends of Golf. Playing with partner Andy North, Bobby flagged a 4 hybrid on the 18th hole of the Savannah Harbor Resort Course during Saturday’s 2nd round from 191 yards that again flew straight into the cup. Ironically, CBS was covering it’s only Champion’s Tour event of the year and captured the event live on National Television. Bobby has worked for CBS as a television announcer for over 20 years.
Both events can be seen on the Impact Zone Youtube Channel (http://www.youtube.com/impactzonegolf) or by viewing below.
The Impact Zone Red is named after Bobby’s revolutionary golf teaching system that is making quite an Impact itself in the golf-teaching world. This ultra premium red blend will surely impact your palate in a way that hits its “sweet spot”!
